Beta Carotene is a source of Vitamin A. But whereas Vitamin A itself can be problematic when taken as a supplement, Beta Carotene is converted to Vitamin A within the body as required and our bodies self-regulate its conversion as needed for its contribution to the maintenance of normal skin, mucous membranes, vision, and the normal function of the immune system. It also has a role in the process of cell specialisation.
